A pet-free family is the new reality.
And if you’re thinking about it, you probably wouldn’t have one.
A new study by a British company suggests a dog or cat-free household could save you hundreds of pounds a year.
Rugs are one of the most common items on the market, with pet-friendly designs all over the place.
But while pets do play an important role in the family’s wellbeing, they’re also a big financial drain on your wallet.
It’s time to rethink how you design your home and what it will look like when your pet is out of the picture.
Pet-free families in Australia will be able to make a lot of money when they do buy pets in 2017, with a study from design consultancy Wollongong-based Dog & Cat Designs indicating a savings of up to £4,400 a year if your family adopts a pet.
“I don’t think you can buy a pet in Australia,” Dog & Cats Design director Joanne Kelly said.
“You have to choose a pet that will be your pet, a pet you can’t be replaced by, and one that is healthy and well-behaved.”
The company was one of just a few to conduct a survey of pet-related sales in Australia, with nearly two-thirds of respondents having chosen a pet as a major pet-choice.
The study also found the average household spent more than $1,000 a year on pets, while the average expenditure on their care was $500 a year or more.
“I think this study is really important for us to be able share what we’ve learnt with other pet owners,” Ms Kelly said, adding that the industry has a lot to learn from the UK.
“The UK has such a strong pet market and people don’t realise how much pet owners spend on pets.”
So I think it’s important to make sure that when we’re designing our homes, that we have a range of different pet-focused options to cater for different budgets.
“A pet-centric home is likely to be one of your first major decisions when you buy a home.
The first step is to decide whether you want to make your home pet-safe, with one of Dog & CAT’s pet-rescue experts speaking to the importance of keeping your pet safe.
After you’ve decided on your pet’s favourite type, you’ll be able choose from a range a range or choose from one of three options: a dog-friendly home that’s a bit more spacious, has a cat-friendly layout or a more pet-oriented one that looks like a pet-loving home but has a different design.
The other major issue with designing your home is whether you can afford to keep a pet inside. “
We think that if you can get away with a different layout, you’re better off,” Ms Kelley said.
The other major issue with designing your home is whether you can afford to keep a pet inside.
The average cost of keeping a pet is around $10,000 per year, while many pet owners are not planning to keep them in a home for more than two years.
Dog & Cat recommends keeping your pets indoors for around five years, but it also recommends that you consider having your pet outside for longer periods if possible.
The company recommends putting your pet in a crate, and keeping it inside a “safe space” where you can easily see it and the outside world, with windows and doors that are close to the animal.
If you want a more dog-focused design, the company recommends adding a pet carrier to your home.
It has been shown to help keep pets in their enclosures, and to encourage them to interact with other pets.
What you need to know about pet design: Pet care can be pricey in Australia’s pet industry, so the cost of a pet can add up quickly.
A pet can cost up to $10k a year, which means that many people can’t afford to get rid of their pet altogether.
Dog-free households in Australia can save a lot on pet care costs by adopting a pet with a dedicated owner.
If you do decide to keep your pet indoors, the key to a pet free home is to choose the best pet-sustainable design.
